Google Flights: my 2 cents

So if you have been doing any search for flights from point A to point B in past few days, chances are you would have seen Google giving you additional options in the form of flight suggestions via its not so newest, not so secretive Google Flights. Now why do I say not so newest, well, Google Flight had been in public beta in a few country for like well over a year. Not so secretive cos it has been available if you know what to look for. Having said that, Google Flights is probably my most favorite website to check out when I have nothing better to do planning for a while range of places to visit. My trip to Oslo was because of it. If I visit Copenhagen in December, you know why.

Well coming to real reason why I am writing about it now, quite simply to talk about my experience. Google Flights helps you plan vacation better. Want to be in Place X for 2 or 3 days, you know what the flight cost is. Want to know how to plan a multi city trip with all legs planned, Google Flights to the rescue. Want to know when to go on vacation, you know who to turn to. Most importantly, I combine Google Flights with Rome2Rio to plan my vacation across Flights, Bus and Trains to travel with as little inconvenience possible. It is absolutely compatible with Rome2Rio which means since you can play with date and time of flight, R2R helps you plan the onground transport while GF takes care of flights this covering all transport options.

Plan for next vacation with GF and R2R for simpler scheduling and maximum value

Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories

Boredom is the mother of trying something new. Boredom from doing the same old stuff, failing repeatedly at something, doing nothing. Breaking away from Boredom means trying something out of the ordinary and even though the break might be relatively close by we usually never try it.
Something of that sort was what was happening with me in terms of watching something on TV. Same old Superhero movies, TV series etc. Don’t get me wrong, I am a super, mega fan of the genre but off late i am having an overdose.
Also, on par with this is the detective-civilian TV series, etc etc. Thus, when i really was searching for something new to watch, i came across Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories on Netflix. The series seems to be inspired by movie Midnight Diner released in 2015 and the Japanese show, Shinya shokudô, released in 2009. The actor, Kaoru Kobayashi, appears in all 3.
The Series is set in a Diner which is open from Midnight until Dawn and does not have a menu but the Chef is willing to whip up whatever his clients ask as long as he has the ingredients. At the diner, people share stories, make new friends, get a new perspective on life.
I have just watched the second episode and as far i can tell, this is not just good, it is mind-blowingly awesome. The story moves in an unhurried pace, tightly strung story line which keeps you hooked on. No unnecessary story time and simple, perfectly plausible and relatable stories.
So, in case you have Netflix, do watch it. Else, I am sure, there are other means… like buying a Netflix Subscription

Beer 19: Kasztelan Niepasteryzowany

Kasztelan Niepasteryzowane is a unpasteurized beer from Carlsberg Polska which gives it a completely unique freshness.

But because it is not pasteurized, Kasztelan Niepasteryzowane has a relatively short shelf life of 35 days. However, that means it’s always fresh on the shelves straight from the brewery in Siepc in central Poland.

Strength: 5.7% ABV

Review: Totally an acquired taste

Coffee with mini cone of Arabica Coffee ice cream

Eindhoven might not be very different from a modern global city with very little heritage value but it has its spots. One such is Ijshoeske D’anna on Hoogstraat which serves coffee with a small side of Coffee Icecream. Just Yum

Belgian GP

Belgian GP was an event I had not planned for at all in Europe as I wanted to do Hungary GP but a chance conversation at work led me to book tickets and transport to Spa Francorchamps
THe transport was on time but by the time we reached Spa, the first race was nearly done and that is when I realised the reason why people camp there 2 days in advance. By the time the second race got underway, we were inside but struggling to find a place to watch the race from. After much discussion and deliberation, we figured out a spot in time for Porsche Mobil 1 Super cup.
The F1 race got underway a few minutes past 2 and within few minutes we also witnessed the crash of Magnussen in the high speed corner we were watching from. Looks horrible and fantastic at once. He got off without a scratch but the car had to be hauled off by a crane and many laps slowed down due to debris from the crash. Race resumed and got very interesting but from our corner we didn’t have much action. Kimi didn’t do well and so a bit of disappointment but overall race experience was great.

We started making our way out of Spa at 6 but as of this post 5 hours later, I am still an hour away from home because of the amount of traffic and logjams. A detailed post soon
