Beer: La Trappe Dubbel has a deep brown colour and attractive beige froth. The use of caramel malt gives it a gentle aromatic caramelised quality. It has a rich malty flavour with a touch of sweetness. Post-fermenting La Trappe Dubbel is a smooth drink, and yet has some real body and intense flavour to it. One of my go-to beer depending on my mood

Because ale can only be called Trappist ale when it has been brewed between the four walls of a Trappist monastery, under the supervision of the monastery’s monks, and when part of the proceeds is earmarked for charity. Pure and honest. And that’s reflected in the taste.
A “Trappist” has to satisfy a number of strict criteria proper to this logo before it may bear this name:
